Vienna is a great place to explore. You find yourself just wondering the streets and admiring the beautiful architecture and then you discover you have stumbled upon the Burgtheater or Parliament. You don’t seem to miss anything as you wonder the streets. If you start at Opernring or Kartner Ring the Opera House is directly in front of you. After you are done admiring the Opera House, walk along one of Vienna’s most popular streets, Kartner Strasse. It has a number of high-end stores, café’s, bars and shops for you to choose from. As Kartner Strasse ends, you hit Graben and are in awe of St. Stephens Cathedral. The strategic pattern of tiles that cover the roof is gorgeous.
After admiring St. Stephens Cathedral you walk down Graben, which is another highly populated street with a plethora of stores and boutiques for you to look in if something catches your eye. Graben is the connecting street between Kartner Strasse and Kohlmarkt two of the best shopping streets in Vienna.
As you walk down Kohlmarkt to do a little shopping you are over taken with the beauty that is Hofburg Palace. This stunning structure is where you will find the Spanish Riding School. The walk down Kohlmarkt is something that must be done. While walking down Kohlmarkt you tend to take an abundance of pictures of Hofburg Palace that awaits you after popping your head into Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and maybe Demel for a quick pastry. After finding yourself in front of Hofburg palace you can either make a left or follow the street around the palace to the Albertina where you will discover one of the worlds most magnificent collections of graphic art or follow the horse and carriages down Helden Platz to Burgring. If you look to the right and follow the Ring Boulevard you will stumble upon Parliament, Rathaus, and the Burgtheater, and a little past them is Voltivkirche, a church worth visiting. But if you do not turn right and cross Burgring you are leaving the Inner Stadt and are staring at the Natural History Museum and the Kunsthistoriches Museum. Just ahead of them you will see Museumsquartier. Museumsquartier is a beautiful seen where you have two incredibly different museums. The MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art), and the Leopold. If you are a little tired of walking between the Leopold and the MUMOK there is Café Restaurant Halle where you can get a drink and just sit at the many tables or lie on the sculpture seating. Located right outside the Museumquartier is the Volkstheater.
Another area that is a must see is along Rennweg. This is where Belveder Palace is located. As you walk from the Inner Stadt (inner ring) and turn on Schwarzenberg Plazt you marvel at the doom that is Karlskirche. Karlskirche is the city's finest Baroque Church
The last place that you must see is Schonbrunn Palace. Schonbrunn Palace is stunning, it is a bit far from the Inner Stadt but you will not be disappointed. With over ten different attractions to see, you have more then enough to choose from.
