(pronounced Loooeeez) is among one of the finest concept stores in the world. This chic store is housed in a historic 1863 building that was once upon a time the New England Museum of Natural History. Until 1989, it was the home of noted architect William G. Preston.

The building underwent a massive renovation when moved in during the 1990s, and it soon became filled with some of the highest-quality fashion items to be found worldwide. The clothing here ranges from suits by Brioni to designer dresses and casual wear from every designer you see in the pages of the most esteemed fashion magazines.

The store itself is a wonderful place to rest your eyes. The details in the architecture and the displays make it a shopper's dream come true. While the selection is classic, a modern coolness definitely prevails.

On the first floor a savory cafe called Restaurant L serves inventive dishes that are perfect before an afternoon stroll up Newbury Street and around Boylston Street, before you head over to .
